The BAMFLeague Information and Guidelines

List of members can be found here.

Joining

First and foremost, the BAMFLeague is a tight knit group of friends. If you are close with the members, you have a significantly higher chance of being able to become a BAMF member. It's not a clique, not an elitist group, merely long time BFFs. By proxy, a lot of the muns are also good friends (not required, but certainly a bonus).

In order to become a member, all current/active members need to vote. Majority rules. If the majority rules in your favor, you become a member and proceed to the nicknaming stage. If the majority rules against you, you do not join but have the ability to try again at a future date (if, say, the reason you weren't voted in was because your relationship with certain members needs to be improved).

Please ensure that your character has spoken to and tried to get to know /all/ current members. This doesn't mean kiss ass, this means they legitimately try to be friends with them. You have to remember that the League is first and foremost a friendship group.

Some instances where the majority ruling will NOT be in place:

  • If your character and a member of the League have a very negative, unhealthy relationship and said member would feel uncomfortable with your character joining. Majority could vote in said character's favor, but to refrain from unnecessary drama it would be wiser to patch the relationship you have with that particular muse before you're allowed to join.

  • If you, as a writer, have a rocky relationship with a writer in the League and it could cause drama or affect IC interactions. Patch that up first.

Nicknames

The nicknaming process has changed slightly. Once upon a time, an animal nickname was chosen for every member and said member was not permitted to participate in the process. This meant that, more often than not, members wound up with an unsatisfactory nickname.

Now, you have a say in the nicknaming process. If you don't like the nicknames being suggested during the process (which typically happens immediately after you are accepted into the group), you absolutely have every right to say so. We will not force you to endure an awful nickname anymore.

If you have a nickname you would prefer (animal or not), suggest it. We usually don't care in the end! It's preferred that the animal theme is kept, however.

Storylines and plotting

It's been a LONG time since a League SL. That's not to say they're not allowed. If you ever have an idea and want the League involved (or at least /some/ members), don't hesitate to say so! Most if not all of us do enjoy SLs! The whole premise of this group is that not only are we great friends IC (and hopefully OOC, too), but that we actively write together and WANT to participate in plots together.

If you're too shy to approach the writers of the other members to propose an SL idea, start with one (whoever you are comfortable with) and let them approach the others for you!

Other

All BAMFLeague members are required to have the #BAMFLeague hashtag in their bio and, preferably (though not required), their nickname as well (this doesn't have to be in hashtag form but it can be if you'd like).

All members are required to follow the other BAMF members. This is a "duh" because everyone's supposed to be BFFs.

Please note, the TL can get very rowdy during BAMFLeague meetings so it is wise to mute one or a few members if it's clogging up your feed. Meetings do require feedback from other members (if they're online). If a vote is needed, they are required to give their vote. If some members are offline, Lion or someone else will typically go from member to member asking for the vote/opinion needed.

If you have troubles following the TL there is a Twitter list that contains all current BAMFLeague members. Anyone can subscribe.

The #BAMFLeague hashtag will be used for tweets that are of importance. So, if you miss anything, you can check the hashtag. Or you can check the official Twitter.

All previous BAMFLeague members have the option to rejoin the League if they so wish. They need not go through the accepting process again or be subjected to a new nickname. They're allowed to change their nickname if they desire.

If a previous member does not wish to rejoin they have the right to refuse.

Leaving the group

It is entirely possible to be kicked out of the League. Fights have not been known to break out among League members before, but it can happen and if a resolution is found, that's perfectly fine. However, if your character is purposefully breaking ties, being nasty to one or more members, refusing to fix relationships, so on and so forth, they can be voted out and, like the joining process, majority rules.

In other cases, your character is absolutely welcome to leave the League at any time if they (or you) so desire. There will be no hard feelings and friendships can still remain intact. Just /please/ let a member know (whether IC or OOC) so we can remove you from all appropriate lists and the like.

We get that activity fluctuates and not everyone has the time and energy to dedicate to writing or RPing. There is no penalty for being inactive. Life always comes first and this group isn't such a huge deal that all members are required to be active. In fact, many of us drop off the face of the planet for months at a time.

FAQ

How did the League come to be?
The BAMFLeague was originally created back in 2012 by four individuals: Narleetah (Amora), Unicorn (now Lion / Loki), Penguin (Loki), and Dolphin (another Loki). Purely a crack group, honestly. The members increased rapidly over time. Some years later, the League was reintroduced and remains today merely for nostalgic purposes.

Who are the active original members?
Dragon, Fox, Rabbit, Lion / Unicorn, Stag / Swan, and Barbarian / Porcupine. Lion is the only remaining founder.

Why did some members change their animal nickname?
Because they didn't like it. Barbarian's is more fitting, Stag sought change, and Lion (as we know) had always hated Unicorn as a nickname (he is still, however, called this by not only his writer but countless others, as well, and he will respond to it).

Where can I find the writers of League members?
There's a list here! Not every writer has a personal Twitter. If they're comfortable sharing, that's great, if not, no big deal!

Why are there so many Lokis?
Because the League was created right before the Avengers movie came out, back when there were eight million Lokis running around. To be fair, though, no two Loki is alike. And not all of them are Marvel/MCU affiliated.

Isn't the BAMFLeague known for drama?
No. Certainly not within ranks. There have been instances in the past (the Bucky drama, for example) where drama very suddenly involved the League. However, this was not only a LONG time ago but the origins of the drama are also lost. To be honest, so long as you're not insulting members / writers of members, there's no reason drama would be started.

The remaining active members today are pretty toned down and calm (and the writers, too, are much older). Drama is not started by the members.

Which members are no longer active?
Narleetah / Amora, Penguin / Loki, Dolphin / Loki, Phoenix / Pegasus, Bat / Loki, Chimera / Wade, Polar Bear / Scarlett, Wolf / Angrboưa, Panther / Anthony, and Clint / Peacock.

Are the members on any other social media?
Rabbit and Lion are also on Tumblr, but they're the only ones.
